The vulva, vagina, uterus (womb), and ovaries are all parts of the female reproductive system, and a gynaecologist is a speciality physician who treats diseases that affect them. The two disciplines of gynaecology and obstetrics both focus on the female reproductive system. Gynecology covers treating women who are not pregnant, whereas Obstetrics deals with pregnancy and all of the procedures and issues that go along with it. Gynaecology includes both the medical and surgical sciences. Cancers, fibroids, etc. must be surgically removed, whereas many gynaecological ailments require hormonal and other pharmacological therapy. After earning their medical degree, gynaecologists must pursue at least 6 years of further specialized study. Gynaecologists identify and manage illnesses that only affect women. They can provide surgical, hormonal, and medicinal treatments.
